Question 1

Where are you located?

Accepted Answer

79-7156 Huliau Pl in Holualoa, a few minutes above Kailua-Kona. Large, clean shop with a waiting lounge.

Question 2

Do I need an appointment?

Accepted Answer

Yes — build a proposal online or call (808) 495-4425 and we'll lock in a drop-off time. Most tint jobs are same-day; PPF and coatings take one to two days.

Question 3

How does the proposal work?

Accepted Answer

Pick your vehicle and services online (or with Kai, our advisor) and you get an instant estimate. Brett reviews it, confirms final pricing, and sends the final proposal to your portal. Accept it, choose a drop-off time and you're booked.

Question 4

Do you offer financing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, through Affirm. Split tint, PPF and coatings into monthly payments, subject to approval.

Question 5

What's your warranty?

Accepted Answer

Lifetime on window tint, 10 years on PPF, 2–9 years on ceramic coatings depending on level, and workmanship on everything we install.

Question 6

Can I wait while the work is done?

Accepted Answer

For tint, absolutely — the lounge is comfortable (customers call it epic). PPF and coatings are drop-off jobs.

Question 7

Do you work on Teslas and EVs?

Accepted Answer

Constantly. Glass roofs, big windshields and soft paint make EVs the perfect candidates for ceramic IR tint and PPF.

Question 8

How do I track my job?

Accepted Answer

Sign in to your portal with your phone number or email — no password. You'll see proposal status, appointment details, documents and notifications.

Question 9

What's legal in Hawaii?

Accepted Answer

Front side windows must let in at least 35% of light. Since Hawaii's 2025 amendment (Act 129), every vehicle — sedans included — can go as dark as you like on the rear side windows and back glass. Windshields stay at 70% and mirrored or colored-reflective finishes aren't allowed. We install legal shades, issue the compliance certificate at install, and can talk through medical exemptions.

Question 10

Ceramic vs. carbon — is ceramic worth it?

Accepted Answer

Carbon looks great and blocks UV, but ceramic and ceramic IR are what actually keep heat out. In Kona, most customers who compare samples on the glass pick ceramic.

Question 11

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

Most vehicles are 2–4 hours. Drop off in the morning and pick up after lunch, or wait in the lounge.

Question 12

When can I roll my windows down?

Accepted Answer

Give it 3–5 days. The film needs to fully cure to the glass before the window seals rub across it.

Question 13

Will it interfere with my phone, GPS or toll transponder?

Accepted Answer

No. Carbon and ceramic films contain no metal, so signals pass straight through.

Question 14

What about the windshield?

Accepted Answer

A 70% clear ceramic IR windshield film blocks a huge amount of heat while staying nearly invisible. It's our most popular add-on for trucks and Teslas.

Question 15

Which kit should I get?

Accepted Answer

Ultimate (full front) is the answer for most daily drivers here: full hood and fenders with no seam. Deluxe is a great budget option; Track Pack and Full Vehicle are for lifted trucks, exotics and anyone who wants zero compromise.

Question 16

Can you see the film?

Accepted Answer

On gloss paint, no. Edges are wrapped or tucked wherever the panel allows. Matte and color films are a visible style choice.

Question 17

Does it really self-heal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Light swirls and scratches in the top coat relax out with sun heat or warm water. Deep gouges through the film will not.

Question 18

How long does PPF last?

Accepted Answer

The films we install carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking and peeling.

Question 19

Can I ceramic coat over PPF?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — it's a popular combo. The film already has a ceramic top coat, and a full coating ties the whole vehicle together.

Question 20

Do I still need to wash the car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but it's fast and easy. Dirt doesn't bond to a coated surface, so a quick pH-neutral wash and a rinse is usually all it takes.

Question 21

Ceramic coating or PPF?

Accepted Answer

PPF stops rock chips; coating stops chemicals, UV and washing swirls. Fronts get PPF, the whole car gets coating — that's the combo we recommend most.

Question 22

Can you coat a used car?

Accepted Answer

Definitely. Level 2 or 3 includes the paint correction that brings a used finish back before it's locked in.

Question 23

How soon can I drive it?

Accepted Answer

Same day for Level 1, next day for Level 2 and 3. No washing for 7 days after pickup.

Question 24

How often should I detail?

Accepted Answer

A Signature detail once or twice a year plus the monthly maintenance plan keeps most vehicles perfect.

Question 25

Can you remove scratches?

Accepted Answer

Swirls and light scratches, yes — that's paint correction. If a scratch catches a fingernail, it's likely through the clear coat and needs paint.

Question 26

Do you come to me?

Accepted Answer

Detailing is done in our Holualoa shop where we control lighting, water and dust. Ask about fleet arrangements.

Question 27

How long does a wrap last?

Accepted Answer

Premium cast vinyl lasts 3–5 years in Hawaii sun with hand washing. Horizontal panels (hood, roof) age first.

Question 28

Does it damage the paint?

Accepted Answer

No. On factory paint, a professionally installed and removed wrap leaves the finish untouched. Repainted panels need a check first.

Question 29

Can you do just my hood?

Accepted Answer

Yes — accents like a satin-black hood or roof are our most popular wrap job.

Question 30

Do you design logos and graphics?

Accepted Answer

We do. Bring your logo files or an idea and we'll mock it up on your vehicle.

Question 31

Will it make my house dark?

Accepted Answer

Not unless you want it to. Ceramic films reject heat while staying nearly clear; we show samples on your glass first.

Question 32

How is it priced?

Accepted Answer

By the square foot, by film type. We measure free and quote on the spot.

Question 33

Does it work on lanai sliders?

Accepted Answer

Yes — sliders and large fixed panes are where film pays off most.
