Tesla Tint & PPF
Glass roof sorted.

That glass roof turns the cabin into a greenhouse and the paint marks if you look at it wrong. Ceramic IR film and self-healing PPF, specified for EVs.

01 //The short version

Beat the Kona heat without losing the view.

Teslas and other EVs are a large share of what comes through the shop, and they present a specific set of problems: an enormous amount of glass, paint with a reputation for marking easily, and an owner who notices cabin heat more than most because air conditioning costs range rather than fuel.

A Model Y or Model 3 has a single-pane glass roof running most of the cabin plus a steeply raked windshield that extends far back. In Kona that is a great deal of surface pointed at a sky delivering as much solar energy as anywhere in the country. The factory glass blocks UV well; what it does not fully stop is infrared, which is the part you feel.

Our standard recommendation for a Tesla here is ceramic IR on the glass roof, a clear 70% ceramic film on the windshield, a legal 35% ceramic on the front sides, and full-front paint protection film. Add a ceramic coating over the whole vehicle and the soft paint becomes far easier to wash without marking.

Why it matters here

What Kona does to your vehicle.

Island-specific reasons this service earns its place, rather than a generic list of benefits.

The roof is the problem

A panoramic glass roof is a large panel pointing straight up at an extreme-UV sky. Ceramic IR film on the roof is the single change EV owners here notice most, and it is the one nobody asks for by name.

Heat costs range

In an EV the air conditioning load shows up on the range display. Cutting the solar heat coming through the roof and windshield is a comfort upgrade and an efficiency one at the same time.

Soft paint, sharp cinder

Tesla paint marks easily, and Big Island highway driving throws volcanic cinder at it. Self-healing film on the front end is the combination that makes the most sense on these cars.

How it works

What the job looks like.

  1. 01 //

    Pick your film + shade

We show you samples on real glass and confirm what's legal for your vehicle type.

  2. 02 //

    Plotter-cut patterns

Your film is computer-cut to the exact glass pattern β€” no blades on your windows.

  3. 03 //

    Clean-room install

Doors panels protected, glass triple-cleaned, film heat-shrunk and squeegeed edge to edge.

  4. 04 //

    Cure + aftercare

Windows stay up 3–5 days. Haze or small water pockets clear within a couple of weeks in island humidity.

Built for Kona sun

The UV index on the Kona side regularly hits 11+. Ceramic IR film is the single biggest comfort upgrade for a daily driver here, and 99% UV block is the reason your dash and seats still look new at trade-in.
